      Decent start pay, pretty good matching 401k. Potential for overtime might be helpful or too much for you. Decent free training program.

      Cons

      Sometimes some senior mechanics refuse to do assigned lesser work, sexual harassment and unprofessional conduct drove me away. Potential for overtime might be helpful or too much for you. Strange goings on inside factory, including being told to hide when there are slow downs or when things are frantic, trying to work around other people in cramped quarters.

      Pros

      For context, I work on the defense side. The work is really fun and exciting with a lot of opportunities to grow. My team is close knit, supportive, and very passionate. Being a part of a union means paid overtime, which is really unusual for software.

      Cons

      Workload is insane. I often work weekends and have pulled 60-80 hour weeks many times. PTO is bare minimum. I have a lot of fun at work, but if I'm putting in startup-level effort, I should not be making well below market rate.
