      Pros

      I’ve been working here for about 4 years. I stay because I know everyone and know my job well but nursing is getting harder and harder. We continue to be short staffed, patients are demanding and all management care about is customer service surveys. News flash if we don’t have adequate staffing we will continue to see patient satisfaction decrease and nurse burnout and nurse turnover increase. These problems are not just at this system, it’s across the country

      Nurse to patient ration 1:6 in med surg is diabolical High medical premiums Some hospitals are getting rid of telemetry rooms so nurses have to monitor their patients cardiac telemetry.

      Great team environment with supportive coworkers and providers. Leadership encourages teamwork, and the company offers good benefits and stability. Working directly with patients can be very rewarding, and the organization focuses strongly on patient-centered care through Bon Secours Mercy Health.

      Cons

      Workload can be very demanding at times, especially with staffing shortages and high patient volume. Communication between departments can occasionally be inconsistent, and opportunities for growth or advancement can be difficult to obtain. Balancing front desk responsibilities with patient needs can also become stressful during busy clinic hours at Bon Secours Mercy Health.
