Pros
Great patient population. Learn a lot on the unit.
Cons
While I initially enjoyed working there and took pride in providing high-quality care to patients, my recent experience has left me deeply disappointed with the organization. During my time on the unit, I gained extensive experience and specialized training. However, over the years, I witnessed a significant decline in both the unit’s culture and the management style under the current leadership. Under the current manager, the atmosphere became increasingly toxic. There was a lack of professional leadership, and at times, I felt unsupported and even bullied. Communication was often unclear and dismissive, and it became evident that constructive feedback was not welcomed. In addition, the lack of resources and support, particularly in critical areas like ICU, is concerning. The unit has deteriorated significantly, and the leadership’s approach only made it harder for staff to do their jobs effectively.
