Pros

1) Networking 2) Training opportunities 3) Great benefits 4) Exposure to different markets 5) Ability to maintain health work/life balance

Cons

1) Promotion process - undefined and subjective 2) Lack of transparency (top-down) 3) Politics drives internal decision making/utilization pressures can be overwhelming 4) Senior management largely inaccessible 5) You may be stuck on projects for a long time you dislike just to meet utilization goals, which may impede your career growth 6) Salary below average 7)No flexibility to manage your career and making steady progress due to too many constraints and internal politics 8) Leaders responsible for business development are also assigned a role of career manager for their staff - their focus is primarily on how to maintain and solidify their own business case and in the process committing their staff to projects without any regard on whether the assignment match the skills of that employee or help them grow in their career

Pros

Friendly work environment, flexible hours, very rarely have to work over 40 hours a week, competitive pay, competitive PTO

Cons

Booz Allen will hire individuals without a position in mind and force them immediately on to the bench. This means that after hiring, they have to conduct more interviews and networking for an “internal job search”, which I feel is disrespectful and not professional. It also means that the interviewers and hiring staff will not know what you will be doing which may result in being mislead about the true nature of your position. However the bench is very nice for existing employees who have a contract ended, allowing them to find a new one without being laid off. Health care could be more competitive. Very high deductible for what you pay. Finally, the company is attempting to transition to a technology company, which doesn’t seem to be going well.
