Pros
This is one of the smartest company's I have ever worked at. My colleagues (in all departments) are intelligent, passionate and highly engaged in their work. People here believe in the brand, advocate for the company and take their role as stewards of the brand seriously. If you are an engineer, you could not ask for a better place to work. The company is founded on the principle of being a research company first and foremost. Work-life balance is easier to strike here than at other large companies. I love working here because people take their continuous education very seriously and it is a culture of learning.
Cons
The company is going through a lot of transition and transformation. Bose is needing to change many legacy practices to be more competitive in the market and become more nimble and agile. There is a lot of tenure throughout the company and this causes tension with long-term employees trying to preserve some legacy practices that need to be retired. Example of this is that the company is very conservative in putting new technologies into their products and that hinders our ability to attract, younger, more tech savvy customers. It is a time of much change here and if you are uncomfortable with uncertainty, this is not the place for you right now.
