Pros
- Very diverse and inclusive faculty and staff - Positive work environment - Strong values - Friendly co-workers who are eager to help you learn - The organization is driven to research and improve cultural competency - Health and dental benefits are very hard to beat especially if you are single - Vacation time rolls sick time and organization-wide holidays into one PTO system - Accessibility to join research as participants
Cons
- Not very much opportunity for growth - Promotions are few and far in-between - Pay raises and bonuses are pretty small for those below upper and middle management - A clear power hierarchy between administration, doctors, nurses, and support staff - There's a lot of research and data on inequality/cultural competency but it seems as though that's where it stops. Very hard to see what the action steps are in the organization to better the lives of those below middle management
