Pros
- The mission of the hospital is incredible and motivating (if you can drag your spirits out of the daily grind long enough remember you are part of something extremely important to your community) - Admin positions pay well for the non-profit sector
Cons
The mission unfortunately has not trickled down into the administrative corporate culture. While many employees are wonderful, dedicated, hardworking, professional - many are the total opposite. It is such a huge organization with not enough oversight to keep people accountable for their behavior towards patients, coworkers, etc. It seems as though administrative staff are allowed to be rude and incompetent without risking their jobs - leading to low patient satisfaction and disgruntled employees.
