Military Culture - COVID-19 Screener Boston University Employee Review

Pros

Great pay and good benefits. University open 24 hours, so you can find jobs at all shifts.

Cons

If you were 1or 2 minutes late, manager will make a note of it and reprimand you either verbally or through your paycheck taking 30 minutes off. If you took a break for 17 minutes instead of 15, it was also noted. You were never allowed to talk back, voice your opinion. Agree with everything and just say "Yes, Sir", then you will might get promoted after a long while. Very military-like culture - surprisingly for a university, perhaps the paying students are allowed creativity and freedom, but not the supporting staff. This employer is obsessed about sexual harassment, don't know if they were sued or trying not to get sued, but I was required to watch long-long-very-long s. harassment preventative videos at least 4 times during my short employment there, and I am almost a grandma, who is going to s. harass me or who am I going to s. harass at this point? - I am lucky if I have enough energy to pick up groceries at Stop&Shop. BU employs almost 10,000 people, so I do not know if mine experience is indicative of other departments or other managers, but that is what I felt.
