Pros
Most teams at Bottomline are some of the most experienced and wonderful individuals I have ever worked with. The camaraderie within the teams is always personable and everyone has a work with and for each other attitude. Unfortunately both of those statements exclude most senior management. And to those how are looking to start your entry-level career, it is a perfect place to get the experience, build some friends and a local network, but then move on quickly. If you are successful and want to stay, the money does get better (and the benefits are solid), but just be wary that second place is a set of steak knifes.
Cons
In addition to my advice to management - the HR dept. (starting at the top) is seriously horrible. That was without a doubt the most difficult and anxiety-driven environment I have ever worked in. Not much else to say on that. Discretionary bonuses are really, really discretionary. Tip: send positive communications on every little thing you do, even when you are just fixing your own mistake, and you get paid. Training; there is none. It is true that a few College Hires every year get 4-5 weeks, but there is not a single training department or team member available for all other 1,500+ employees. The work life balance is a big challenge. This is a 50-60+ hour a week job, period, in any position.
