Pros

Most of the people who work here genuinely want to make a positive impact on their clients' lives; ability to learn skills/gain experience with addictions, adults, and/or children; good stepping stone to gain experience until you can move on.

Cons

Salary is not comparable to other agencies and/or is not reflective of the years of experience that one possesses. This company is more focused on making a profit than providing quality services and best practice. The amount of politics, including county and corporate, is often stressful and effects morale and work performance. Management is constantly micromanaging and you often work long days, late nights, and weekends. Unrealistic expectations on productivity requirements- if you do not meet your goal, you are faced with performance improvement plans until you are terminated (more like 3 strikes rule). Constant focus and stress regarding service hours. Lots of wear and tear on your vehicle with moderate compensation for mileage. No laptop, no cell phone ($25/month siphon). No real training on how to complete documentation and/or do your job. Minimal clinical support- RSM's do supervision and it is focused on mainly what you have done wrong. Prepare to be upset every night you go home. Tons of turnover. People are constantly filtering in and out; nobody stays here. Everyone is overworked- and positions that should seem like a climb up the ladder are more of a step down when looking at salary- Entry level therapists make less than some RSP's based on level system.

We appreciate the insight. First and foremost, I am happy to share with you that we provided 2.5 million dollars in raises, company-wide in 2018. We have also refurbished our mid-management roles to be out in the field with the field staff more, emphasizing extra support and guidance. Since 2016, we have implemented Surface Pros and WiFi jet packs for convenient documentation. In, 2019 we continued to provide raises to therapy level staff (Master's level and Licensed providers included). We hope you check out the new and improved Bowen Center at www.bowencenter.org.

Pros

It was good until it wasn't.

Cons

They care more about the bottom dollar. They preach core values but behind closed doors it's false. I needed time off for my child's own mental health concerns and was denied because they said my absence would impact the Financials. They told me I needed to have someone else care for my daughter who was struggling. This place is not what they seem. The stress they put on staff is evident by their first day badge photo and how they look 6 months in. Health concerns, weight concerns and more.
