Pros

1.It's an ok option for anyone looking to pursue a career in hospitality, the vast majority of the day to day tasks have to do with hospitality. It depends on how stabilized the building you get assigned to is, but you can end up spending most of your day attending to tenants needs. 2.Coworkers were generally nice 3. If interested in sales, could be an ok option as long as you are willing to give up the weekends. However, make sure that it is a new development. If the building has pretty much been stabilized, you will not be renting out much. 4. The event planning is rare but enjoyable.

Cons

1.The hours are exhausting, this is the kind of job that you need to be sure you are passionate about hospitality for. They claim you may have to work some weekends, but that means 3 out of the 4 weekends in a month at least. You will get two days off, but they are rarely consecutive. This makes recuperating and having a personal life a lot more difficult. 2. You rarely get holidays off. Due to the need to have someone serving as the point of contact for residents, you will probably have to work most holidays. 3.Not ideal for someone interested in a marketing career because marketing duties are minimal. In other words marketing in this position means posting on Instagram a couple times a week and listing the properties on different websites.

Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts! Being a sales and marketing associate is an awesome and rewarding responsibility and I’m sorry to hear that it was not for you. As you mentioned this job is ideal for someone who is passionate about the hospitality industry. Weekend and holiday work is a common practice in the property management and hospitality industries as we are committed to providing the highest level of service to our communities 7-days a week. As you mentioned employees who work weekends are able to enjoy 2 days off every work week. We wish you success in your new role!
