Engineering - Senior Engineer Bridgestone Americas Employee Review

Pros

Average salary for the area (Wilson, NC)

Cons

No concern for life-work balance. Incompetent engineering/maintenance management. Upper level management easily threatened by employees who either have superior credentials, abilities, skills or support from the production floor employees and managers. The management will fabricate and/or bend the truth to satisfy their personal agendas. There have been multiple times when the engineering/maintenance management has used the plant's safety rules/regulations to advance their personal agendas to terminate employees that they either were intimidated by, threatened by, or concerned that they knew information that would/could lead to their own dismissal. These same managers have knowingly and willfully violated those same safety rules to include LOTO to again advance their own personal agendas.

Pros

Stable work - buses on the road every day, so tire service tends to be more predictable than some other retail work. Mechanical experience - You'll gain experience with heavy-duty vehicles, commercial tires, fleet operations, safety procedures, and potentially CDL-related skills. Physically demanding - Frequent lifting of tires, pushing heavy equipment, bending, kneeling, and working around large vehicles are regular parts of the job.

Cons

Repetitive labor - Much of the work involves mounting, balancing, and repairing large tires repeatedly throughout a shift. Safety risks - Working with heavy commercial tires and transit vehicles requires strict adherence to safety procedures and PPE requirements.
