Pros
It's easy to get a job at Rescare. If you don't mess up too horribly during the interview, you'll get the job. There is a ridiculously high amount of turnover, so there is always a need for an influx of new blood. Another "pro" is the consumers. If it weren't for the consumers, a large number of Rescare employees would have quit a long time ago. It's a job. For now, it pays the bills.
Cons
Wow...where should I start? The 1st week of orientation is a complete joke. They teach you how to pass the mandatory Core A and Core B tests. People who brown-nose to the SSs and PCs get special treatment. The brown-nosers tend to be the people who don't do their jobs very effectively. If you want to get away with sleeping during 3rd shift, just become best buddies with your SS. There is no room for advancement. Raises are nonexistent. Rescare is not very fair with its employees. They would rather "shoot the messenger" than deal with any problems. Your work experience will vary greatly based upon who your SS and PC is. The SSs and PCs play favorites. If you brown-nose, tell them everything they want to hear, then you'll do fine. But, if you dare ask a question or make an observation about anything, expect to catch flack from the bosses. They don't care about the things that really matter. Some of the SSs are obsessed about community hab, but they couldn't care less about the fact that the pantry isn't adequately stocked. Rescare only cares about 1 thing: money. Employees are generally treated as if they are garbage.
