Pros

$12.00 an hour, flexible work hours for family and school. You pick the clients you want to work with and the hours you'd like.

Cons

This branch routinely lies to get what they want. They don't stick to their word when agreeing upon something (such as days off or hours). Yearly reviews are purposely not done so you don't get the pay raise you deserve and they won't back pay you when they eventually do the reviews. The worst company I've ever worked for. I was a CNA at the Crystal Lake, IL Brightstar company. The family I worked for requested that I wear my street clothes when at their home. The family also had several live in caregivers that worked their when I was away. None of them spoke English and none had any medical knowledge. Two of them tried to touch me inappropriately and said vulgar things to me. When I told my female DON she said it was completely my fault for dressing inappropriately. Another caregiver I worked with told the company I was drinking on the job. Brightstar believed her with out questioning it and called me on the job and berated me, informing me that they would take my certification and make sure I never worked in healthcare again. None of it was ever true and they never apologized to me.

Pros

Clinical leadership provided excellent mentorship and was highly accessible for questions. Management did a great job of keeping commute times in mind when scheduling visits. Territories were well-defined and organized, which made daily planning much easier,

Cons

As with any home health role, there were occasional logistical issues or days when one wanted to dive under the covers, but the leadership team was supportive.
