Pros

Love this company. Competitive pay, great health benefits, really good ESSP, flexible work hours. Work/Life balance has improved over the years with maturity of management teams. A lot of smart people to learn from. Good office setup in the HQ location.

Cons

401K match is not so good. Overall compensation has gone down with new equity award (or lack thereof depending on your manager). Terrible vacation policy in the US, creating an environment where people barely here for 6 months are taking so much time off as if they've been here for years. Big company so a good amount bureaucracy to deal with. Rash of hires in the last year on senior level management and positions have been questionable, hiring people with absolutely no direct knowledge or expertise on positions they filled or worse just plain lazy (and consequently wasting requisitions that are already hard to come by for many departments) . When you hire a senior level manager, they shouldn't get here learning the most basic requirements of their job, they should already bring valuable expertise.

Pros

High pay, good benefits, stock options

Cons

Soulless corporate structure and demands. Broadcom acquired the company I worked for and drastically increased prices immediately, alienating well over 50% of our customers.
