Pros

I am happy to say I enjoy working at Homebase. I've worked here for over 2 years. Working here has really helped me grow as a person and I've learned a ton about the complex world of NYC housing regulations. The work can be very fulfilling at times, especially when my homeless clients find housing or I am able to prevent an eviction. I've really built strong rapports with many of my clients.

Cons

The salary for the case manager position is higher than the average one available on the market but it's unfortunately not super high because of funding. Helping tenants can be difficult due to city and state regulations but I've learned to fight hard to work around those. I think most non profits on Glassdoor do not generally get great ratings because no matter where you go, the work can be very emotionally taxing at times. What I enjoyed about Homebase is that they really taught me how to manage my work life balance and separate my personal life from the lives of my clients.
