Pros
The residents and staff in the community are wonderful. The building was maintained well and it wasn't hard to get assistance from corporate when things were needed. Benefits weren't the best but they were manageable.
Cons
WAY too much corporate involvement and control at a community level. There' s no trust in the managers on site to do their jobs without their complete oversight. There is an expectation that every community be the same rather than recognizing that things in these environments should be personalized for not only the residents, but the families and staff as well. There always seemed to be a need for an extreme reaction to any negative incident, basically someone had to "take the blame". Education was rarely used as an intervention or response and grace was rarely given. Lots of terminations while I was there, on all levels, regardless of intent, job performance prior to the incident, or longevity. The on-call is 24/7/365 and you are expected to work a lot of hours, but this is more industry driven rather than company.
