Pros
Brookfield is environmentally focused, as in they really care about sustainability and how they can positively impact the industry. Peers are great; you will form lasting relationships and have work buddies. It's a great company to have on your resume and you will learn a lot.
Cons
Management/leadership at the regional level is not good, staffing is inadequate, everyone is overworked, and there is no work/life balance. They have refused to staff properly post-pandemic after acquiring 12 new properties and are trying to backfill management vacancies at the APM and/or PM level with temps and/or property assistants. If you're not working until 11:00 pm every night and on weekends, you're not a team player. If you are working those hours, you won't be rewarded with a promotion and/or additional compensation unless you are favored. There is a core group of favorites that are continually supported, praised, and promoted. Meanwhile, you will be swamped with work, while juggling multiple committees, and answering questions/helping the favored people do their jobs, while they continue to rank up and you get nil. I literally would be walking people two to three levels above me through basic tasks or answering their numerous questions so they could do their job but "I wasn't ready" for a promotion. It's so disheartening to see what is happening with the culture in their DC/MD/VA portfolio.
