Pros

Solid benefits and time off Good hours Fridays off in June-August Work is extremely easy Impossible to be fired Fun coworkers

Cons

COVID-19 brought a light to how this organization terribly treats its employees. This was a blessing in disguise that led me to leave. I'm now at an organization that cares for its employees AND pays well. Zero communication in departments Extreme politics in the Director/Board level Resistant to change Directors push back on improvements on current processes No oversight from managers Low pay and no raises Unable to negotiate raises (raises salary 2-4% max which doesn't match inflation) No career opportunities (no one leaves the company)

Pros

The children, if you love working with special needs children and assisting them to learn and want a family friendly work schedule (if you have school age children) it's good.

Cons

Tension in the classroom atmosphere, among other staff, making your day stressful and way to much drama from coworkers. Hire inexperienced staff and teachers to just fill the spots. Low pay even if you have 10 years experience. No staff support and they talk down to you (like you're a student). It's supposed to be all about the children and what's best- it's not.
