Pros

Learning about clothes, always getting new stuff, meeting some awesome people. There's a lot of room to move up because of the high turnover. Pretty good insurance too. I do love that they donate to a lot of charities, they're very LGBT friendly, green without the plastic bags and stuff, they stand for a lot of good things. Also, depending on how long you've been there and your position, you do get a bonus at the end of the month if the company made enough profit that month.

Cons

What can I say? It sucks the life out of you. Open ended shifts mean you never know when you're gonna go home. And they will squeeze the life out of that "open ended-ness". Assigning you tasks AFTER you are supposed to get off. THIS REALLY HAPPENS. I wish I had known before I started here that I would be getting let out at LEAST twenty minutes after I was supposed to be off, like, every day. Wtf is that? Manage your time better. That makes employees feel used. You know what else makes us feel used? The horrible pay. We pretty much go thru people's garbage all day w/ the occasional great seller who understands when we pass etc. Otherwise it's just someone getting mad at us for not taking all 12 pairs of their 8 years old pumps and sneakers or worn out t shirts. And they get ANGRY. AT YOU. And you just gotta smile and take it. I'm telling you I've worked as a buyer for years and the people who sell here just give you the worst time. You have to do homework, read extra books, make presentations, do research on your own, (this is all OFF the clock or at home they don't give you time to do it at work)...........all for less than a living wage. Despicable. Honestly.

Pros

you learn a lot about clothes

Cons

literally the worst job i can possibly imagine. you’re expected to be on top of register, buying in clothes, customers stealing, dressing room, talking to the customers on the floor, counting in and out the money, etc 100% all of the time. they expect you to overextend yourself the entire shift. i have never had to be on top of so many things in my life. i have more responsibilities than the MANAGERS at my last job do for far less pay. and we are in downtown portland so we get a lot of theft and have to deescalate mental health crises constantly. every employee i’ve talked to has agreed with me that they’ve never felt like a bad employee before working here. i pride myself on being smart and helpful and quickly learning the rules of any environment im in but i’ve never felt more stupid in my life. there is literally no time to take a breath in the entire 8hr shift
