Pros
-fun environment -opportunity to make your customers' day -get to dress up animals -short training (a positive and negative depending on how you look at it) -nice and friendly coworkers -some managers give you positive and need to work on feedback -30% discount and extra discount during Christmas season This was my first retail job and it taught me a lot when I moved on to other retail.
Cons
-my store had multiple management changes in the months that I was there which made policies inconsistent -scheduling based off of favoritism -emphasis to upsell way too much for comfort -gets VERY tiring after a while -always have to be upbeat no matter what -gets EXTREMELY crazy during the weekends and holidays -favoritism -unfair policies in the store that I was employed. Favoritism definitely played a part in who got to be on what station. For almost a year that I was employed, I almost always was at stuffer which can be wear you down like no other -some managers are rude to certain employees A lot of reviews say that this is a great first job, but for me, I felt overwhelmed. In hindsight, it helped me in other jobs, but in the months that I was there, it was tiring.
