Pros
I loved working with the people. It was so much fun to be a part of such a welcoming group and become a family. The job itself was fun for the most part. Being a kid for a little bit was great.
Cons
There was always a lot of pressure from upper management to be be the BEST, and I don't mean that in an encouraging way. There were a lot of stressful times where sales/metrics did not meet expectations, and the blame was solely placed on the small management team of the store. Not, ya know, the state of the world or anything, or the fact that realistically, not a lot of people want to spend a lot on a teddy bear? It's a specialty store, so it's understandable, but still! Also it got to a point where there is only so far we can push guests to make a purchase, but were reprimanded for not trying hard enough, or told we should just push harder. Development was not a priority, it was hard to really hone in on leadership skills because you were always focused on just getting the numbers.
