Pros
employee-ownership allows complete open book on knowing stability and direction of the firm, meetings 2x year for all employees to understand financials/backlog/direction Great diversity in projects and clients allowed us to withstand massive cuts that our competition had - not a hire and fire shop professionals know their stuff, have integrity give lots of money to charity and support our communities ESOP is fantastic lots of culture, history and stability - great place to grow a career, especially starting as a new grad
Cons
because it's not hire and fire, tend to be a little lean on staff at times getting bigger/co. growing so becoming harder to weed out people who should be fired have a few clients with unrealistic expectations Seen a few experienced technical staff struggle with adapting to the great employee-ownership culture because they came from bad cultures/political/non-existent cultures
