Pros

Field Service Managers were all a pleasure to work with. Most all employees are polite.

Cons

Numerous. No support for Field service managers from upper management. Raises are promised for years and never given to technicians. On call 24 hours for Revolution contract. Never sufficient communication all around. Too busy putting out daily fires to actually run business. Company is falling apart fast.

Thank you for taking the time to share your views and for complimenting the Field Team you worked with. As CEO, it was very disappointing to see that you do not recommend Burroughs as a place to go for a career. Although it would appear that you have not experienced it, the management team works hard every day to address some of the points you make across the whole organization. With clients across the entire nation, balancing our Field Tech team with their fluctuating volumes economically is certainly a challenge. Over the last 18 months, we have recruited over 150 field technicians so that we can alleviate the work pressure you describe. From my perspective, our Field Service Managers are definitely supported by management but I will certainly take a look at your observation. In terms of raises, we should not be making promises and not keeping them. One of my strong beliefs is telling people the truth, good or bad. Payroll and Benefits are our largest cost in the company and for obvious reasons we need to keep these in line with the money our clients pay us. The Burroughs team and I are working very hard to make improvements, especially in terms of communications. Burroughs is now the largest independent national service provider in our market and has seen double digit growth year on year. I would welcome the opportunity to speak with you directly, feel free to send me a note at info@burroughs.com. Good luck in your new career. CEO

Pros

A paycheck and all the overtime you could wish for if that is what you are want. Company vehicle provided. On the clock from when you leave your home until you return. Tools will eventually be provided but it takes months. There are some great people to work with outside of management.

Cons

The culture is chaos and burnout. Passive aggressive micromanagement. No communication or direction. No incentive to do well except receive a paycheck. Training is there in theory but is not effective. They expect employees to facilitate business out of their own pocket. They expect employees to be on-call but will not pay for employees to be "on-call". No work life balance unless you call in sick. They expect you to continue taking calls when you're at the end of your shift. Managers from other regions moving calls around to, from, and within your que without notice, along with sales people, dispatchers, an auto-dispatch system, and customer submitted website. The whole process is the model of inefficiency. If one employee messes up they punish all employees instead of trying to develop or correct employee. Benefits are equal to if not worse than what is provided through a temporary staffing company. No path to professional development. No bonuses, incentives, or appreciation of employees. Raises do not exist and upon separation, whether it was on them or the employee, they refuse to pay out accrued vacation time and fight unemployment claims, whether there is a reason or not. Management's attitude regarding employees is that employees do not matter and can be easily replaced. Employees are looked upon as slave labor as opposed to someone to develop into a full career.
