Burroughs Response

Although it has been a long time since we had an office and people in San Paulo, thank you for taking the time to share your views. I took over Burroughs back in 2016 so I do not have any real history of this part of the business, which has subsequently been sold. Even though I was not around, I do know that our clients have always been a key focus and that existing and prior team members concentrate on that everyday. Overwork is something we try very hard to minimize and it is one of our top three points of focus for the “Team”. Your comment about treating our team members as clients is a great way to think about it when trying to bring change Andrew Lawson, CEO

Pros

A paycheck and all the overtime you could wish for if that is what you are want. Company vehicle provided. On the clock from when you leave your home until you return. Tools will eventually be provided but it takes months. There are some great people to work with outside of management.

Cons

The culture is chaos and burnout. Passive aggressive micromanagement. No communication or direction. No incentive to do well except receive a paycheck. Training is there in theory but is not effective. They expect employees to facilitate business out of their own pocket. They expect employees to be on-call but will not pay for employees to be "on-call". No work life balance unless you call in sick. They expect you to continue taking calls when you're at the end of your shift. Managers from other regions moving calls around to, from, and within your que without notice, along with sales people, dispatchers, an auto-dispatch system, and customer submitted website. The whole process is the model of inefficiency. If one employee messes up they punish all employees instead of trying to develop or correct employee. Benefits are equal to if not worse than what is provided through a temporary staffing company. No path to professional development. No bonuses, incentives, or appreciation of employees. Raises do not exist and upon separation, whether it was on them or the employee, they refuse to pay out accrued vacation time and fight unemployment claims, whether there is a reason or not. Management's attitude regarding employees is that employees do not matter and can be easily replaced. Employees are looked upon as slave labor as opposed to someone to develop into a full career.
