Pros

There are some good people working there.

Cons

They encourage BACBs to break BACB ethics in order to save protect themselves from liability. The culture cares about money and fears litigation. BCBA's are left to handle insurance battles and given extra caseloads instead of focusing on individual children. Not enough techs/high turnover and many techs hired are not suitable nor trained in BACB ethics.

Butterfly Effects Response

Butterfly Effects (BE) is a highly ethical company. Under the stewardship of its President, numerous modifications have been made to BE policies reinforcing its commitment to ethical billing and clinical practices. BE has created a toll-free ethics hotline so any employee may immediately report any billing or clinical concerns without fear of repression. The BE leadership team has also developed a team to audit time sheets to ensure compliance with CPT Codes and all billing rules. Additionally, the company has developed policies to place child outcomes before any questionable billing or clinical practices. The person, entity, or organization responsible for this review is invited to call our President to report any suspected wrongdoing or request clarification as to any Butterfly Effects practices. Our President has personally conducted ethics training with BCBA staff, presents at national conferences on BCBA ethics, and has a Governor’s appointment to a board that evaluates compliance with ethical standards. We believe we have fully responded to these concerns.
