Pros
You can choose your own client schedule Supervisors are really helpful and encouraging Hourly pay is not bad plus you get travel pay
Cons
Most of the clients are concentrated in VA Beach and/or are sprinkled throughout the other 7 cities so there is lots of distance travel involved. The hours are usually after school during rush hour drive, and most sessions are only about 2 hours about 1-5 days a week. If the clients cancel for whatever reason you don't get paid but there are exceptions to this. If you are a student with no rent or major responsibilities and/or someone who can handle the inconsistent hours and scheduling then this may be a good fit. You also have to be someone who is sensitive to working with children who have intellectual and behavioral deficiencies. Please don't apply here if you don't care about this demographic because these clients need people who want to be there. It takes FOREVER to get credentialed once you become certified as a RBT and it takes FOREVER for the insurance companies to approve the new clients for services so as a result you are always in limbo waiting to be assigned clients for yourself, a complete bottle neck. If you have the time to wait for your client load to build then it could prove advantageous especially as a part time gig.
