Pros

Pros: * The company provides a yearly company gift as a token of appreciation for employees. * Free GrabFood lunch is provided, which is a great daily perk. * Complimentary snacks and drinks are available through the office vending machines. * Teams are given a quarterly budget for team-building activities, encouraging collaboration and team bonding.

Cons

* There is no dedicated local HR team, which can make it difficult to get timely support for employee concerns and HR-related processes. * The company rarely organizes office events, making the required return-to-office (RTO) setup feel unnecessary since there are limited opportunities for collaboration or culture-building. * The office lacks a strong workplace culture, making it challenging for employees to feel engaged or connected with their teams. * Internal promotions to a Quality Analyst (QA) role do not guarantee a salary increase. Compensation is still primarily based on performance, which can be discouraging when newly promoted QAs discover that some moderators are earning higher salaries despite the increased responsibilities of the QA role.

Pros

The pay is competitive, and the overall compensation package is fairly good.

Cons

If you are not Chinese, career advancement can be significantly more difficult, especially when it comes to promotion opportunities and visibility with leadership. I previously worked in HR compliance at ByteDance. While large-scale layoffs may happen less frequently than at some other companies, the company may use many unusual or legally questionable approaches to pressure employees to resign or justify termination. Employees should be very careful, understand company policies, and keep written records of important conversations.
