Pros
These are going to be few and far between. It’s quite literally scraping the barrel to find a pro or positive. I would say that if anything, you’ll learn a lot in a sprint-based-fashion about all things digital marketing. That does not mean you’re learning the right ways however.
Cons
Where to begin. Working at C-4 taught myself and fellow employees the true value of a company investing in its employees, nurturing and fostering their growth, while taking the time to listen and react positively to individuals concerns, struggles, and hardships. We learned this because it is the complete opposite of what was experienced at C-4. When the pandemic hit and work from home became the new norm, we were shipped equipment, threatened to check email on weekends with response to clients or disciplinary action would be taken. We were told to pressure clients to keep budgets no matter what. These clients, having to choose between paying family and friends at their dealership, or forking over money to a company that wanted to keep spend high as the market was frozen for car sales. We were asked to write positive reviews when negatives appeared, especially as we looked to hire more help. Workload was mind blowing. There are reviews here that are clearly plants; do not a knowledge the “it’s hard work but it’s only cut out for hard working people.” C-4’s groupthink mentality means that if you do not fit the mold, if you ask for change or a question, or if you simply cannot keep up with the 12+ clients you’re tasked with completing reporting, insightful presentations, campaign management, creative submissions edits and reviews, 60 min client meetings, practice client meetings with malicious tenured employees….you certainly were told about it. And if that sounds like a lot, it’s just the top of the iceberg. There is never enough time to complete the workload for 1 client, let alone 12. You will wake up at 5 am from pure anxiety. You will finish work (if you can pull yourself from it) well into the evening hours if 8 and 9 pm. Leadership is not only lacking, but the complete miss on diversity is truly appalling and eye opening. Being on the client services side, you’ll not only feel like you’re drowning, but leadership will assist in helping you sink further by way of not knowing how to handle a situation, telling you to grow thick skin when a client has offloaded a terrible personal day, or simply ignore you altogether; a favorite tactic above all. Meetings to voice your concerns will quite literally be rescheduled days or even minutes leading up to if only to avoid facing the truth.
