Pros
Let's face it, in this industry, no one has the credibility and regard that TMC and CH Robinson has, which makes it an employer of choice. I have pride in the company that I work for and the success we've achieved for our clientele. TMC is expanding and growing quite rapidly. If you hustle hard, think outside of the box and take charge of your own learning and development you will do well at TMC. Hold on, because it's bound to be an exciting ride! It's thrilling to be apart of a team at the cutting edge, the technology and innovation that is evolving is best in class. Friends in the industry who work for competitors beg to know more about Vision and the various other tools and services TMC offers. We are in an enviable position within the market. The company is evolving to be more strategically focused rather than tactical. Project management is being rolled out to folks at all levels allowing for a more critically thought out approach to business.
Cons
Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain Management... it's a grind regardless of the company. The work is relentless, the customer always wants more better & cheaper and that's never going to change. What TMC can do is focus on recruiting, promoting and paying people who are prepared and ready to go the extra mile. Those who are providing little should be managed out. TMC could do a better job of rotating talent across accounts or groups to keep jobs and perspectives fresh. There is ample opportunity to get a better grasp of how employees are feeling. We do employee reviews, our customers do satisfaction reviews - I think there's an opportunity to get a pulse on the state of the accounts from those who live and breath in it every day. (Something outside of their own performance to grade twice a year.) The office is eerily quiet. People sitting 2 feet away from each other instant messaging instead of speaking out loud about the job, about the business or to ask a question. There is room for improvement and an absolute need to increase teamwork & collaboration.
