Pros
-Great first job right out of college/Good resume builder -Good working atmosphere with similar aged co-workers, ability to meet post-work friends. -Being an industry leader is a plus and this also allows you to have great resources. -Overall very casual atmosphere and casual dress code.
Cons
-You quickly realize there is a huge equality gap between the top reps and the lower-rung reps. -Not an exciting industry, you're selling something every carrier needs, but whether or not yours is good enough. -The uncontrollable variables which can pull money out of your pocket are extremely frustrating in this industry. Ridiculously high level of patience is a must. -Long hours without regular increases in salary are extremely deflating. -If you are satisfied with being on the phone all day with very few breaks from your desk than this is a perfect position for you. -A bachelor's degree required for a job most high school graduates could accomplish. -Poor communication between management and employees makes for a very confusing and identity lacking experience. -High turnover makes for an unstable work environment. -Fear of ridicule from peers or management when wanting to take time off. -Like most people have posted, the "flat" organizational structure makes it very tough to remain motivated day after day. -Before you start earning commission you are making a very "modest" salary especially for the location of the office. -Office atmosphere definitely has the feeling of being in a shark tank.
