Cons
Its all about making money for the company. You work your tail off for a couple of years just to get a dollar raise. This includes working everyone's on call every weekend for several weeks in a row and its not about asking you to work- they tell you last minute you're working and you better not say you can't. They have no regard for employees who have a family especially with small kids. You have to plan sickness or emergencies that may arise. Doesn't matter how long you've been there for. If an emergency arises and you MUST be off- your job gets threatened because you didnt give notice. They dont care if your kid or your spouse is sick, in the hospital or whatever - you better not take off even though you've worked daylight to dark every single day and took on call every single weekend for the last 2 months!! They talk about budget but yet you back track jobs that are put on you at the last min. Example- had 2 jobs 40 miles away from your local area and 1 job in your local area- you've finished your 2 jobs 40 miles away and are back in the local area and are finishing up the one job - its 3pm and dispatch adds 2 more jobs 40 miles away which is where your first 2 jobs were earlier so now you're heading back again at 3pm 40 miles away because they drop them on you last minute. Yet they complain about budget issues and amazingly its always the field guy's fault. They have no sense of organization, management is there to point fingers and corporate doesn't care!
