Pros
It's stable and gives you some additional earning power. You work with some wonderful students and really do meaningful work. I would only suggest working like this if you balance your workload so that you don't burn out, and so that you feel that you aren't stressing over it too much.
Cons
Most people don't have a tenure longer than 4 years. Management and constantly changing coworkers can be demoralizing.
