Pros

The field manager was nice (but pretty clueless).

Cons

They are dishonest about pay. They tell you that you will get a certain amount per hour, plus an extra $3.71 per hour to cover your benefits. Well, if you do use their benefits, that 3.71 does not get used to cover your cost of the health coverage, etc...NO...it goes to CACI to cover THEIR cost of your benefits. And then you still pay the full premium on top of that, deducted from your pay. You will have small paychecks with them if you use the benefits....very small. You can only use the CACI-provided computer for OPM things. Everything else must be done on your personal computer, like timesheet, expenses, accessing company e-mail, etc. If you do TDY, you have to bring two computers!!!! And they do not have a website or portal for investigators, so most things are done manually. You cannot print needed forms, etc -- you have to request them and they are mailed to you. If you do a local TDY that is over 100 miles, they make you get a rental car so they don't have to pay miles. They say they are all about quality, but not anymore. It is all about revenue and production. So much for quality background investigations. You are running for points. People at level III are usually working off the clock to make their weekly points. Life is too short to be donating your time to a company that could care less about you. USIS was SO much better in all ways. OPM fired the wrong contractor. They should have kept the best one they had.

Pros

Great support from other team members

Cons

Communication from the Web Content Analyst lead could be improved. Employees were often expected to complete tasks with limited guidance or knowledge sharing, which made onboarding and professional development more difficult. Interactions with leadership could sometimes feel unnecessarily dismissive or discouraging, especially when employees asked questions or requested clarification on technical processes. Expectations and priorities occasionally changed without clear communication, creating confusion and additional stress for team members trying to meet deadlines and deliver quality work. Technical information sometimes felt unnecessarily restricted, which created challenges for collaboration, efficiency, and overall team growth. Feedback was not always delivered in a constructive or supportive manner, which could negatively affect morale and confidence within the team. Stronger communication, mentorship, professionalism, and a more collaborative leadership approach would greatly improve the overall employee experience and workplace culture.
