Pros

Generally easy going management, it's easy to work here (con: and not ever think again) Expectations from above are achievable, can even be limiting (con) Beautiful geographic area, lots of outdoor activities available

Cons

Inadequate academic/professional collaboration Management does not really promote research and progressive ideas, but certainly pays mouth-service Good-old boy network of university leaders (old, white, conservative men): case in point new university president Small, slow town, boring if city-livin' appeals to you Homogeneous demographics- 80% white, hard-core religious Christians, very conservative

Pros

At the ASI Children's center I learned the fundamentals of how to care and relate to children, got excellent training with head teachers (some were nicer than others), and moved my way up to other positions in the company.

Cons

Just like you do with friends, some of the head teachers you have chemistry with and others you don't. The ones you don't make the job feel more difficult. Pay was okay for me then with lower costs and inflation but now I am guessing it won't be enough for the current economic times.
