Pros
I did what I loved, but this all I can say.
Cons
So many! Conditions - outdated offices and teaching equipment, classrooms and offices are from 1970s. Computers and projectors are old, clunky and rarely operate without issues. Classes are full with no breathing room. All you see on pictures and brochures is for marketing purposes. The reality is harsh from parking and bathrooms to classes, hallways and bathrooms. As for working environment, you dance around politics! And if you do not fit racially, culturally, or G-d forbid, political views are out of sync with CalState La… you are out! Don’t speak up when you see something wrong. Just do your job quietly and be ok with having a job. Maternity leaves are frowned upon and everything is promised to you in exchange for endless work on the University. When time comes and you need support, you are ousted and become a nuisance. Mothers and families are not supported in this place of work! Covid hit hard families with children and no support was provided!
