Don't be a minority here, It feels like being someone's only black friend; they treat you like a novelty. Some of it's nice, but some of it is patronizing. Some of the bosses were really smart and encouraging, I happened to have the only one who was insecure and treated people like children. If you're "in" you're really in. But if you're the least bit of an outsider you'll spend every day on the outside looking in; being left out of basic things like important meetings. When you speak up, people tell you to shut up and be grateful for your high pay.
