Pros

It's funny that many of the reviews are from recent employees who have been with the company for so long. It's telling that HR has asked a number of employees to do reviews for the company. Most of the bad reviews are spot-on and iterate the same message. You can make 48-50k just out of college or with no experience and do minimal work. Management will never review your work and you might get pulled into "special projects" if you're lucky. It's good experience for a year or so. You can get promoted if you do the bare minimum and stick around for 3+ years. No one will ask questions. There's no accountability - if you're into that sort of thing, this is the place for you! You can get one free bagel once a month. You can feel like you're part of a "family." CCA likes to promote from within, which can be a good thing. Unless you're on the receiving end of a new manager who is toxic, manipulative, and unexperienced. The culture here is good if you're over 50 and a white man.

Cons

Once you've been there for a year or so and prove you're a good employee, you will probably take on an extraordinary amount of work and only be offered a raise or promotion once a year. Good luck trying to advocate for yourself any other time because if it's not October during the review period, it's not happening. If you do get a promotion, it takes a minimum of three months for you to start transitioning to that role. When they do finally let you transition, you'll be doing both jobs with no end in sight until they can hire someone -who will probably be internal. And they will probably tell you you have to wait longer because that person now also has to transition. There are no specific guidelines to getting a promotion. You will probably be told time and time again that "it takes time," or, "we don't promote people with one year of experience," and then watch other people who have precisely that get promoted. Most of the management team could not explain to you what their employees are doing on a daily basis. Extremely clique-oriented. If you're in the right crowd with the executives, you'll be good! Very close-minded approach to pretty much every situation and idea. Being given special projects with no direction and expecting them to be done same day without the person asking knowing what's on your plate. And when you deliver the project, you'll be asked to redo the entire thing because it's not what they had in mind. Good thing you didn't have anything else to do.

Thank you for your very transparent review of CCA. We are working hard to seek feedback to continuously improve our organization and we’re sorry that our efforts did not meet your expectations. We are thankful that you took the time to share your opinion so that we can reflect on it as we move forward. Glassdoor does highly recommend, as a best practice, to ask employees to write reviews. All we ask for is honesty and transparency so that we can continue to make this a great place to work (as we think it is). Good luck to you in your future endeavors!

Pros

CCA has a really positive, team-oriented culture. People are approachable and supportive, and there’s a genuine sense that everyone is working toward the same goal. It doesn’t feel overly corporate, which I appreciate. The mission—helping independent businesses succeed—actually comes through in the work, which makes it feel meaningful. There’s also a good level of stability, and if you’re someone who likes to take initiative, you can definitely grow and carve out opportunities for yourself. Leadership is accessible and makes an effort to communicate, and there’s been a noticeable focus on listening to employees and continuing to improve. It’s one of those places where people tend to stay a long time, which says a lot. Overall, it’s a solid place to work with good people, a collaborative environment, and a company that’s trying to do the right things.

Cons

No cons I can think of.

Pros

- Supportive and collaborative immediate team. - Strong relationships with coworkers and opportunities to build lasting friendships. - Industry-standard design tools and interesting projects. - Good work-life flexibility depending on the team. - Leadership within the Visual Merchandising department genuinely cared about employee well-being and collaboration.

Cons

- Career growth opportunities for creative roles are extremely limited, making it difficult to build a long-term career. - Project timelines are often reactive rather than proactive, which creates unnecessary stress and compressed design schedules. - Accountability across departments should be stronger so deadlines are shared fairly rather than shifting pressure onto downstream teams. - Company culture has changed over the past several years and no longer feels as people oriented as it once did.
