Poor leadership. Management does not have your best interests in mind, causing a lack of trust within the organization. The only important thing to CDI is money (not people). If you cannot stay billable, then you cannot work for CDI. As a PM, you have to constantly bring in additional work, keep the internal disciplines gainfully employed and manage the client. When the disciplines produce poor quality work, the PM is at fault. When the client is not happy, the PM is at fault. When there's not enough work, the PM is at fault. CDI has had tremendous turnover and it's clear to me that the reason is lack of trust. Management does not actively create an environment of trust and loyalty. Instead, they will listen only to the client and fire you without even talking to you about the complaint to hear your side of the story. If you are projecting that you will not be 100% billable, nothing is done by management to help you stay employed. This company needs good leadership. Good leaders will attract good people. Good people will attract more business. More business will result in growth and profit. Why can't management see this? Not to belabor this point, but you cannot wait for one thing to go wrong and then fire that person. You have to give people a chance. Believe in your team, develop and train them, be loyal and eventually you'll find that you've created a healthy team that instills teamwork and a great work environment where people will stay. Benefits are also lacking. CDI passed along more of the premium to its employees. For family coverage, my monthly bill was $800.
