Engaged Employer

A great place to work if you need 10-25 hours per week and not looking to advance - Lead CDS (Club Demonstration Services) Employee Review

Pros

WDS is great about working with time-off requests any time other than December (when time off is not allowed), and it can be a great environment if you remain a demonstrator and get along with your co-workers. Having fun is encouraged and Costco members always love the free food!

Cons

Your week-to-week schedule and number of hours are unreliable, demos are constantly being added/canceled so Demonstrators will often get calls asking if they can come in or notifications that they aren't needed. Disorganization and miscommunication are prevalent in the leadership and can cause problems on the floor and discrepancies in procedure thereby causing confusion on protocol among the staff.

Pros

The job is simple, and you're doing something new every shift. Getting to talk to people is great and if you like cooking, some demos require it.

Cons

Can be tedious and mind numbing. Standing in one spot for 5- 6 hours taking about a product and giving out samples isn't for everyone. Tough on the feet, so good shoes are a must.
