Pros

Great for skill development Great coworkers New Sirius acquisition leadership was what we needed

Cons

Higher leadership only cares about the sellers. All travel is frozen unless you are in sales. Doesn't make sense to not allow engineers to go to technical conferences(not the flashy sales crap) but sales can go to anything they want. Engineers going to Cisco Live don't find out who is going until May when the conference is the first week in June. Waste of company money to go at that point when all relevant technical trainings are filled along with any hotel close to the venues. Always have to track your bonus' to make sure you are paid correctly. These are all manually calculated by a commissions team and are incorrect a lot taking 1-2 quarters to get corrected if at all. Engineers have purchased their own labs since CDW doesn't have a true lab. Health insurance is higher than most other companies. 401k match isn't great(50% match) Employee stock is 5% discount on the last day of the quarter which is the most expensive time of the quarter. Not being in sales, don't count on any CDW apparel for onsite customer visits. A lot of bad eggs have fallen up the ladder and what was an incredible ACE(Associate Consulting Engineer) program is now a train wreck.

Pros

You have the ability to sell full stack solutions, services and software.

Cons

I have worked at CDW for 10yrs and every single year they have changed the comp plan in a way that makes it harder for sellers to make money (constantly moving the goal post). Prior to 2020 CDW had little to no lay offs now it is happening every six months. They say the reasons is to reduce cost and improve efficiencies BUT as a company our sales continue to grow along with the C-levels pockets.
