Pros

Nice work/life balance, work-from-home perks,

Cons

Terrible base pay that is lowered upon promotion (35 to 30k once promoted to Account Manager). Rising and vague goal structure that affects your commission (you keep just 7.7% of profit on your commission statement if you miss goal). CDW also intercepts vendor spiffs, meaning you earn less for each product you are incentivized to sell. Account reassigns are always given to the most tenured sales rep on the team, meaning that the best accounts and leads will ALWAYS go to the tenured rep. Do not be suprised if exisiting renewals or deals on reassigned accounts are stolen and given to the tenured rep. I saw this happen time and time again. Sales management will make sure to protect the tenured reps and play favorites no matter what. Be prepared to kiss butt and suck up to your manager if you want any chance at SURVIVAL. As a young sales rep at CDW it's not about thriving - it's merely survival as round and round of layoffs have occurred over the last 18 months. There are Account Managers on my team earning less than $500/month in commissions and management seems a-okay with this.

Pros

You have the ability to sell full stack solutions, services and software.

Cons

I have worked at CDW for 10yrs and every single year they have changed the comp plan in a way that makes it harder for sellers to make money (constantly moving the goal post). Prior to 2020 CDW had little to no lay offs now it is happening every six months. They say the reasons is to reduce cost and improve efficiencies BUT as a company our sales continue to grow along with the C-levels pockets.
