Pros

Are hourly with overtime so shutdowns are profitable. Laid back work environment untill shutdowns. Not very corporate.

Cons

Shutdowns are awful work 100 hour weeks. Management does not like answering questions no training. Management is unorganized on outlining goals for projects and getting it to engineers.

Pros

Long lead projects. Big projects run a year or more. Lots of support and knowledge available. Great place to learn for somebody new to the industry. Hourly pay for engineers (most employers are salary)

Cons

Long hours. Frequent travel. Stressful startups (but that is the nature of this industry).
