Pros

Lots of good, hard-working people, get-it-done mentality. Good benefits, strong focus on ethics and safety. New focus on leadership development. Leadership experienced in the industry. Opportunity for advancement for new hires in the field. Stable company.

Cons

Women are undervalued and under utilized and leadership would say that's the nature of the business. Reality is that capable women are rarely invited or involved in important decision-making, but relied on for low level decisions and to "administer". Female employees expressed frustration but were resigned to the culture.

It is true that, in the past, this industry has been predominantly male driven. Over the past several years, CGB has developed and maintains a strong commitment to increasing the number of female leaders within the company and workforce. We continue to hire and promote women for leadership roles within our organization and we enhance leadership skills for both men and women through a company designed and ongoing program called “Leadership Foundations.” CGB is also in its third year of a women specific mentoring program called “Lead Retain Grow” in which we assign mentors to female professionals to facilitate continued growth. If you have anything additional to share, I would welcome a direct discussion to learn more about your specific experience. Thank you for your comments. We certainly appreciate the perspective and feedback. Kevin Adams, President & CEO

Pros

good 401k good health insurance

Cons

upper managers have no clue what anyone does they work 40 hours and 5 days a week and expect their employees to work six 10-14 hour days. & days a week during harvest. They think the occasional cookout compensates them for the work they do. Can't find reliable help anymore so they will just hire anyone. This is the CGB MidMiss group. It is all about the money. Do not care about employees. Will not let them hire any additional help even though it is needed. Upper management needs to get out and know their employees and what they do.
