Enjoyable Line of Work; Horrible Management and Advancement Opportunities - Operations CGB Enterprises Employee Review

Pros

Working at a barge/rail facility, operations employees often get to do numerous different tasks and operate multiple kinds of machinery. It's not a monotonous job and you quickly build relationships with the people with whom you work.

Cons

Employees with several years and a ton of experience are often taken for granted and raises/wages are not competitive with similar companies. Advancement opportunities are rare for hourly employees regardless of experience and management is quick to cherry pick in an effort to dock employees on reviews and justify denying raises. Management expects employees to happily switch or change shifts, drive out to other facilities and cover employees on other shifts, while volunteering/agreeing to do these things isn't reflected in evaluations and raises.

Pros

good 401k good health insurance

Cons

upper managers have no clue what anyone does they work 40 hours and 5 days a week and expect their employees to work six 10-14 hour days. & days a week during harvest. They think the occasional cookout compensates them for the work they do. Can't find reliable help anymore so they will just hire anyone. This is the CGB MidMiss group. It is all about the money. Do not care about employees. Will not let them hire any additional help even though it is needed. Upper management needs to get out and know their employees and what they do.
