Pros

CHG provides time for us to hone our skills. The company was built on core values that are not present any more, but at times linger around. There is some cool technology being used.

Cons

Nearly impossible to progress in career, Digital leadership just let go and or shifted a ton of very valuable employees(people doing the work are furious- soft handed execs are making changes they do not understand), they are hiring contractors abroad because they are not paying local engineers competitively, we do not celebrate any wins (cant even get budget to take engineers to lunch), Many teams purpose is to keep the business running, they are not given any respect, funding, or credit. You may get lucky and be put on a high profile team, but most are using archaic technologies keeping old systems from dying. We get sales-pitches about how great the company is from the execs. This company is very good at selling.

Thank you for your feedback and perspective on some of our recent organizational changes. Our digital leadership team is committed to CHG’s core values and people-focused culture. This includes encouraging and supporting team activities and celebrations, as well as regularly listening to our people to improve the employee experience and how we work together as a digital organization. While evolving how we work was driven by team feedback (and is part of our commitment to our core value of Continuous Improvement), we understand that any transition takes time, especially for individuals whose roles may have changed. Your experience is important to us and does not reflect the employee experience we’re working hard to cultivate in our division. If you have additional questions or concerns about how changes impact your role and career development, how we resource and staff different initiatives and priorities, please reach out to any senior leader in digital. You can also reach out to CHG’s employee relations team or submit anonymous questions and feedback in our Town Halls or on the intranet.

Pros

CHG has been an incredible place to work for the last decade. I have been provided many opportunities to grow and contribute in new ways, There are many thrilling business problems to solve and challenges that keep me engaged and excited to come to work each day. I love the culture, the people I get to work with, the flexibility, the rewarding and meaningful work, and what we are building together.

Cons

I'd love to see a higher 401K match and maybe sabbaticals every 10 years.

Pros

Ability to work from home. OK pay. Mostly great people to work with.

Cons

Used to be a company that never laid people off. Now it seems that every month, some group has layoffs. We are being told that AI won't replace any people, yet people are being laid off and not replaced. Promotions from within are rare. VPs are hired from outside the company. Culture has changed. Bad behavior is tolerated if that person gives good results for the bottom line. Leaders can push to have people in other departments demoted or fired. Many leaders only pay lip service to Work/Life balance. I often take my computer with me on my days off so I can jump on and take care of things. I frequently answer emails and phone calls on days off. Lots of pressure to come into the office to work, even if the rest of your team isn't there. Messaging from management is confusing. We are told that CHG is gaining market share in a difficult market and then told that CHG isn't meeting its goals, so raises will be very small and the bonuses won't be that great. But somehow CHG is doing really well. Skip level 1:1 are a waste of time. I've figured out that if I just get whoever I'm talking to talking about their stuff, I don't actually have to say anything. If I do manage to bring up a concern or ask a question, I'm told that I'm making an interesting point, but I don't get any further information or answers. Basically, CHG has become just like any other corporation.
