Pros
Rachelle the director of IMCU is great to work with. Great teamwork skills with coworkers. House Supervisors are amazing! They help with IVs, admission data, dropping ngt, cosign for blood, pull pt up, will help with a patient if something doesn't look right to you, draw blood and etc.
Cons
Often time no CNA/PCA and maxed patient load. Med/Surg/tele holds 26 patients on the unit. Med/Surg/Tele Rns will have 1: 6 patients and IMCU 1:4 is the avg but do not be surprised if you get pushed to 5. Often time lab and pharmacy pick up and drop off for items are slow, as result, you will have to walk up and down to lab or pharmacy if you want speedy results (no tube system at this hospital). The hospital is small so you are able to walk to different department quickly.
