Pros

- Insurance is good. - Time off is granted up front. - Onboarding was informative.

Cons

- Favoritism is rampant in OCC / Observation Dept. Some nurses have no admits while others have 3+ per shift. - Self scheduling is a joke—unless you’re a favorite. I requested a Wed through Sat off three months in advance and was scheduled Sun, Wed, and Sat. I called in that Wed and Sat. - Assignments routinely change hours into the shift because patients were left off the assignment sheet or nurses not scheduled to work were assigned patients. - Many of your coworkers brag about doing “as little as possible.” - You’re expected to return texts within an hour, regardless of where you are or what you’re doing. You’re also expected to respond to open ended texts—e.g., “Let me know if you’re interested…”. - You’re expected to click you received an uninterrupted 30 minute lunch break when you actually didn’t. - I was told, more than once, to perform skills I had not been checked off on at Christus.

Pros

PTO and health benefits....friendly and helpful front desk staff

Cons

Low pay, no growth opportunities, poor and unprofessional leadership who are very laxed, unhelpful, uncaring, nonchalant and even disrespectful at times.... only in a leadership position for the title and money, showing favoritism to certain associates. What's really disturbing is most don't know anything, not even their job, and can't provide any answers. They use the team leads to do their jobs for them while they sit at their desk and relax.
