Pros

Decent starting pay, good benefits, working with experienced people in IT, and large tech stack for learning and taking on new projects. I enjoyed working with most people around me. My team was mostly a group of long tenured IT staff which came with a great depth of knowledge on CLA technology. Most people individually were extremely helpful and willing to provide insight.

Cons

My personal experience in training was not great. There isn't a solid basis for training on the company's vast systems except through hands-on and constant observational learning. A lot of IT and specifically the cloud team is immensely overworked. Sadly I believe its one of those "It's just how we operate" environments. Not enough push back and reflection from some management for reasonable expectations. Coming from the top down, they are trying to push new ideas and new shiny too often without consideration of what is current. I did not feel comfortable being able to express to my manager or even HR about troubles I was having with WFH work/life balance. They have a "feedback culture" and I feel as if that was missing in my case. Like many large corporations, they use software to literally give grades on productivity of workers. This tracks what you are constantly doing on your machine or what you aren't doing. There are a few bad apples in the IT space and sadly I worked closely with one. I did feel slightly like an outcast at times, but I also could have just forced myself into more collaboration.

Pros

Good thing national teams allow remote work opportunity because there's not enough space in the local offices anyway, but you might just end up working after hours more often than not.

Cons

No pay raises year after year which is an actual pay decrees when taking into account inflation, fake "flexible" PTO, required to work 45 hours a week without any overtime, raises, bonus, or any financial reward which actually matters. You have to do ridiculous workday feedbacks, and self review every quarter but it means nothing because they don't even consider the feed back you've received when laying off. It is your job to find work, and when there is't enough work for you it's your fault, not leadership's. You get promised new projects and they are always delayed for months at a time and many times nothing even comes out of it. Pretentious company that likes to call itself "family" - only red flags here.
