Pros

There are decent benefits. Flex time and work from home are possibilities. Some coworkers do want to help each other and care about the job they do.

Cons

It's the most politically charged company I've ever worked at. There are employees on visas, desperate for green card sponsorship. It results in a lack of teamwork and some backstabbing, as they push to look better than their peers. Morale has been low, and now bonuses were lower than expected even with record volumes, due to their "forecasted budget" having unreasonably high expectations.

Thank you for your feedback. Although we believe that there’s great teamwork at CME Group, we’re sorry to hear you’ve had contrary experiences. We are always in pursuit of making our environment one that fosters both collaboration and high morale. In our latest employee engagement pulse survey, results showed a 30% increase in the number of employees who feel our organizational structure enables them to work more efficiently. While that’s great news, we understand there are some employees with individual concerns, and appreciate that you have shared yours. If you continue to experience the environment you’ve described, we encourage you to reach out via email to Human Resources.

Pros

Strong engineering culture with exposure to large-scale financial systems, distributed architecture, and production-critical platforms. Good opportunities to learn modern cloud, performance, and reliability engineering.

Cons

Bureaucracy and internal politics can sometimes outweigh technical merit. Employees who take ownership or challenge inefficiencies may face delayed recognition, unclear growth paths, and shifting expectations, leading to frustration and disengagement over time.
